Event Alert: Pendulum Magazine hosting second Cocktail Hour featuring Kevin Brownlee, Artisan SakeMaker, & Juno Kim

I attended the media preview for the second edition of the highly-anticipated ‘Cocktail Hour’ by Pendulum Magazine, again, at 89 Smithe Street. The star cocktail ingredient this time is sake! And the mixologist genius behind the drink is Award-winning bartender and Bacardi Portfolio Ambassador for BC, Kevin Brownlee and the sake is provided by Granville Island’s Aartisan SakeMaker

The cocktail, “Osake Spritz “,  is a contemporary creation that highlights the Rubino Vermouth, St. Germaine Elderflower Liqueur, and a premium Osake Junmai Sparkling from Artisan SakeMaker. The drink is infused with the essences of tropical fruits and hints of pear and nuts.

Food stylist and chef Juno Kim will be featured and offering a canapé menu paired with the featured cocktail.

The featured cocktail is available for ONE NIGHT ONLY on November 16th. Limit of 120 spaces. Spots are on a first-come, first-served basis. Admission is free to the public, but you must be 19+ in order to participate. Register today on Eventbrite.

The sake maker was at the preview event to address any question towards the sake used in the cocktail. I was informed that  Artisan SakeMaker, Established in 2007 on Granville Island,  is known for its award-winning, hand-made, small batch and fresh sake. Their brand name “OSAKE” is widely
recognized as “Canada’s first locally produced fresh premium sake”, and has gained popularity nationwide.

It was also great to see Juno Kim, a culinary veteran in the city despite his youthful looks. Juno Kim is a visionary chef who has carved a promising culinary path of his own through his innovative pop-up dinners. His unique and mindful approach to food has garnered him praise and accolades from a diverse clientele ranging from top tastemakers to tech companies.

I also want to mention that Pendulum Magazine is a Vancouver-based international media platform in English and Chinese featuring travel, business, art, design, architecture, photography and culinary arts.  And if you are looking for refined things is such perspectives of life, you must follow the published articles on their website.

Please find more detail of registering for the cocktail event with free admission.
