What Makes Lorette’s Brunch Stand Out in Whistler

First, a huge shoutout to my friend Areta (Foodgressing)or taking me to this brunch adventure—after a fun and delicious night of long table dinner and cocktails at Wild Blue followed by happy hour at the newly opened Balam, we arrived at Lorette Brasserie ready to see if brunch could be the perfect follow-up—and spoiler alert, it absolutely was!

Whistler is full of amazing brunch spots, but Lorette Brasserie, tucked inside the Summit Lodge Boutique Hotel, truly stands out for its charm and thoughtful approach to French-inspired cuisine. We sat at the chef’s bar table and watched the chefs in action in the open kitchen. All the dishes had great plating—it was a symphony of brunch dispatching. This experience comes highly recommended.

Lorette’s brunch menu reimagines French comfort food with a distinctly Pacific Northwest twist. House-baked brioche melts in your mouth, rich hollandaise drapes over perfectly poached eggs, and smoked meats bring a touch of rustic coziness to the table. Vegetarian diners are not forgotten, with creative dishes that highlight fresh, local produce in inventive ways.

I opted for the Champignon Eggs Benedict ($24). Featuring creamy mushrooms atop a buttered muffin, crowned with perfectly poached free-range eggs, and drizzled with luscious brown butter hollandaise, it was a dish that truly showcased the chef’s attention to detail. I also enjoyed a side of thick, savory butcher-cut bacon, which complemented the rich flavors of the eggs and mushrooms beautifully.

Areta had the Waffle of the Day, and she loved how fresh the waffle was and the thoughtful flavor combination with fresh fruit and other ingredients. Her side of country ham and sausage was juicy and comforting, rounding out a satisfying meal.

The rest of the menu is filled with highlights that keep guests coming back. The Croque Madame arrives on toasted sourdough layered with country ham, Gruyère, and Dijon béchamel, finished with a golden fried egg. For those craving something heartier, the Lorette Breakfast offers a full plate of eggs any style with butcher-cut bacon, sausage, creamy mushrooms, the restaurant’s signature potato tartlet, and toast. Other memorable favorites include seasonal Benedicts such as Buttermilk Fried Chicken or Royale Salmon Rillette, and the decadent Brioche French Toast topped with caramelized pineapple, lemon curd, and candied nuts.

The dining experience is enhanced by the ambiance. With a warm, European mountain-chalet aesthetic, Lorette strikes the perfect balance between cozy and refined. It’s the kind of place where brunch feels both indulgent and comforting.

Drinks play an equally important role in the brunch experience. Lorette’s beverage program blends French spirits with local influences, offering signature cocktails and a curated wine selection designed to complement the flavors of the menu.

Brunch at Lorette Brasserie is more than just a weekend outing—it’s a complete experience and has earned its reputation as one of Whistler’s standout brunch destinations.
