{"id":9768,"date":"2017-01-20T01:14:57","date_gmt":"2017-01-20T09:14:57","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.pickydiners.com\/www\/?p=9768"},"modified":"2017-01-20T02:32:08","modified_gmt":"2017-01-20T10:32:08","slug":"dine-vancouver-2017-preview-edible-canada","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.pickydiners.com\/www\/dine-vancouver-2017-preview-edible-canada\/","title":{"rendered":"Dine Out Vancouver 2017 Preview &#8211; Edible Canada"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Here at <strong>Edible Canada<\/strong>, it&#8217;s all about eating fabulous food that&#8217;s seasonal and \u00a0locally sourced, and they have made sure that their <a href=\"http:\/\/www.dineoutvancouver.com\/listings\/Edible-Canada-at-the-Market\/32918\/0\/#dineoutdinnermenu\" target=\"_blank\">Dine Out Vancouver 2017 menu<\/a> reflects this philosophy. \u00a0And this 3-course special dinner is priced at only $30.<\/p>\n<p>I was lucky to get invited to taste some dishes on their menu before it was released.<\/p>\n<p>There are 6 options for <strong>Appetizer<\/strong>, and they all happen to be gluten free.<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><strong>Hazelmere Roasted Carrot Soup<\/strong><\/li>\n<li><strong>Pacific Cod and Pemberton Potato Pakoras<\/strong><\/li>\n<li><strong>Hazelmere Kale Salad<\/strong><\/li>\n<li><strong>Crispy West Coast Humbolt Squid<\/strong>, (add $3)<\/li>\n<li><strong>Grilled Alberta Lamb Heart Gaujillo<\/strong> (add $4)<\/li>\n<li><strong>Rangeland Bison Tartare Japanese mustard <\/strong>(add $5)<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>While the <strong>Grilled Alberta Lamb Hear<\/strong> hit the spot for the the food adventurers with a keen taste in\u00a0game meats, seafood lovers would enjoy the <strong>Crispy West Coast Humbolt Squid<\/strong> and the Pacific Cod. There is seal on the menu! And that will definitely\u00a0attract the adventurous crowd. However\u00a0at the tasting, I only had a chance to try the\u00a0<strong>Haida Gwaii Rockfish &amp; Mussel Moroccan Stew\u00a0<\/strong>and the <strong>Rabbit Orecchiette<\/strong>. It was just excited to see such beautiful Canadian ingredients really shine while being incorporated into different world cuisines with big flavours. But if you are more of a cocktail person, this <strong>Duck Fat Manhattan<\/strong> is a tasty and whimsical choice.
