When I first saw Tsim Chai Noodles in Richmond years ago, I was overjoyed because the best Wonton Noodle Soup I’d ever had at the time was at Tsim Chai Kee Noodle in Tsim Sha Tsui, Hong Kong. Although I still don\u2019t know if those 2 noodle houses are actually affiliated, the one in Richmond does have the same ping pong-sized shrimp wonton and hand made tilapia balls. Comparing Tsim Chai Noodles to another popular wonton noodle house, Max Noodle House<\/a>, the rivalry dramatically reflects the big rivalry between Tsim Chai Kee and Mak\u2019s Noodle (Mak Un Kee) on Wellington Street in Hong Kong Central of 15 years. So who\u2019s better? Tsim Chai or Max? But at the end I think the question should be\u2026 For having a bowl of Wonton Noodle Soup, are you a Noodle guy or a Wonton guy? If you\u2019re big on noodle, Max is the place for you, but if you likes to have bigger and tastier wonton, Tsim Chai definitely provides the fix!<\/p>\n

Yes the wonton here at Tsim Chai is humongous! It is loaded with lots of shrimps and a little bit pork to provide more depth of flavour. It is tasty and it is satisfying. Personally I think the thin egg noodles buy tramadol online without prescriptions <\/a> here are not so bad either. The art of making egg noodles at Mak’s in Hong Kong is indeed spectacular – the noodle dough is made with all flour and duck egg only and without any water, so the texture is perfectly al dente. Max Noodle House in Richmond seems to have their noodles made following the same tradition, and the result is excellent.<\/p>\n

Tsim Chai also provide other typical Cantonese style noodle house specialties. Their congee dishes might not be in the same league with Congee Noodle House or Kwang Chow Congee and Noodle House in Vancouver, they are still pretty decent. However, Lamb Brisket Hot Pot, shared by me and LoLo tonight, was very disappointing – the lamb was not tender, and the sauce was very watery and lacked of flavours. It seems like you better still with their wonton dishes if you want to be safe…<\/p>\n
