{"id":13176,"date":"2018-01-17T11:10:27","date_gmt":"2018-01-17T19:10:27","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.pickydiners.com\/www\/?p=13176"},"modified":"2019-01-07T14:09:43","modified_gmt":"2019-01-07T22:09:43","slug":"recap-noodle-mania-2018","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.pickydiners.com\/www\/recap-noodle-mania-2018\/","title":{"rendered":"Recap: Noodle Mania 2018"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>This year, <a href=\"http:\/\/vancouverfoodster.com\/\">Vancouver Foodster<\/a>&#8216;s <strong>Noodle Mania<\/strong> is not as maniacal as last year with the number of geographical coverage. The event covered\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/www.pickydiners.com\/www\/vancouver-noodle-mania-vanfoodster-recap\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">quite a few neighbourhoods last year in the city<\/a>. Eventually, we decided to go to\u00a0<strong>Robba Da Matti<\/strong>. A small cozy Italian restaurant once named <em><strong>L&#8217;Antipasto<\/strong><\/em>, the place has been pretty much the same since the name change, serving fresh pasta and other classic Italian dishes.<\/p>\n<p>For the tasting of the evening, we were offered the traditional\u00a0<strong>Spaghetti alle Vongole<\/strong>, featuring thin noodles with white wine sauce and clams,\u00a0 and also the <strong>Rigatoni Pomodoro &amp; Basil<\/strong>, another classic of tube-shaped noodles with a tomato basil sauce. I used to watch Sam&#8217;s popular show called &#8220;Stylish Man &#8211; The Chef&#8221;.\u00a0 The noodle seems to have gained raving reviews in Asia since it was introduced in 2016. There are savoury, sweet, aromatic and spicy elements in their creation, although all quite subtle. Some find the noodle soup spicy, but I didn&#8217;t. I have developed a tolerance to spicy food lately I guess.\u00a0 Visually, the noodle dishes were nicely arranged, with different vibrant colours.
