There are 75 vendors this year offering food, drinks, and merchandise, also featuring many family activities and live entertainment. I was invited as media to celebrate all those cherished and joyful experiences.<\/p>\n
<\/p>\n By the entrance, a 30ft tall Christmas tree welcomes guests to enter to experience a majestic moment as they are immersed in a sea 36,000 twinkling lights.<\/p>\n The Christmas Pyramid has also\u00a0returned, but it is taller than ever with the addition of a brand new\u00a0\u2018Flying Stage\u2019<\/strong>, towering\u00a010 ft high. The Flying Stage is hosting a daily festive entertainment line-up,\u00a0 featuring musical talents from jazz, blues, folk, pop, classical, and gospel.<\/p>\n At the bottom of the Christmas Pyramid, guest can order their favourite\u00a0Gl\u00fchwein, a hot-spiced mulled wine that brings\u00a0them a sweet, warm and spiced holiday spirit. A variety of coffees (Schnappsl Kaffee Haus<\/a>), ciders (Das Apfelhaus<\/a>) and beers (Bavarian Haus<\/a>,\u00a0Persephone Brewing Co<\/a>) are also served at the Market.<\/p>\n Organagan Spirits<\/a> and Wild Goose Wines<\/a> are here offering samples. And you might end up bringing home a bottle or two of BC’s finest.<\/p>\n Craft Gin<\/strong> form Organagan Spirits is always one of my favourites\u00a0and it’s hard to be found in the local liquor stores.<\/p>\n There are many vendors and here are a few that I’ve tried.<\/p>\n The hearty Gulasch<\/strong> stew from\u00a0Das Gulasch Haus<\/a> is available\u00a0in Vegan also.<\/p>\n Ms Park’s delicious\u00a0Cheese Me Raclette<\/a>, is\u00a0the only vendor currently serving raclette in Vancouver.<\/p>\n At\u00a0Sp\u00e4tzle Haus<\/a>, the sp\u00e4tzle is handmade and giving you a taste of old German\u00a0grandma’s cooking.<\/p>\n The salmon burgers at\u00a0Eat F.I.S.H.<\/a>\u00a0are UBER tasty if you want me to be German about it. But we also found some Candied Sablefish here, which is hard to find at any other vendors who also\u00a0supply\u00a0fresh, sustainable, regional seafood.<\/p>\n Always a must-have at the Christmas\u00a0Market, the\u00a0Schweinshaxe (large pork shank roasted on a special rotisserie) at\u00a0Haxen Haus<\/a> is satisfying all the meat lovers.<\/p>\n New at the Market this year, ARC Iberico Imports<\/a> offers a taste of their premium Jam\u00f3n Iberico<\/strong> imported from Spain and their homemade Spanish Paella<\/strong>.<\/p>\n Another must-have great German holiday treat is the sausages, and they are no exceptions\u00a0this year at\u00a0Freybe Brat Haus<\/a>.<\/p>\n After a Weiner<\/strong>\u00a0and a Frankfurter<\/strong>, maybe it’s time for a Berliner<\/strong> at\u00a0Schnappsl Kaffee Haus<\/a>? A sweet treat after savory,\u00a0and we are all winners! \ud83d\ude42<\/p>\n The sweet treats also include the ones from\u00a0Stollen Haus<\/a> and\u00a0Transylvanian Bakery Chimney Cakes<\/a>.<\/p>\n Another interesting culinary spot for foodies is\u00a0Taste the Wild<\/a>, where they offer\u00a0wild foods, bringing wild mushrooms<\/strong> such as Chanterelle, Morel, Porcini, Pine and many others directly from the forests of North America. They also sell local Pickled Fiddleheads<\/strong> and Wild Berry Jam<\/strong>.<\/p>\n You could even find the culinary gold, a variety of truffles here, such as Oregan Black Truffle, Italian Alba White Truffle and Italian Winter Black Truffle.<\/p>\n And here’s what I did with the Oregan black truffle I bought here. I made a beef tartare topped with avocado and black truffle!<\/p>\n Kids would love the gingerbread decorating at\u00a0Gingerbread Haus<\/a>.<\/p>\n There are many vendors at the Market where you can find great holiday gift ideas!<\/p>\n Here are a few to mention:<\/p>\n And the kids’ favourite, Downtown Vancouver’s only\u00a0Christmas Carousel\u00a0<\/strong>is also back this year!<\/p>\n <\/p>\n The Christmas Market also features the Alpine Haus<\/strong> tent, designed to accommodate more than 250 people where they can sit and relax or enjoy food and beverages.<\/p>\n <\/p>\n The authentic German-inspired festivities have officially begun!
