{"id":10769,"date":"2017-06-13T10:01:06","date_gmt":"2017-06-13T18:01:06","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.pickydiners.com\/www\/?p=10769"},"modified":"2017-06-13T15:35:49","modified_gmt":"2017-06-13T23:35:49","slug":"spacca-napoli-pizzeria-a-taste-of-southern-italy-in-port-moody","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.pickydiners.com\/www\/spacca-napoli-pizzeria-a-taste-of-southern-italy-in-port-moody\/","title":{"rendered":"Spacca Napoli Pizzeria &#8211; A Taste of Southern Italy in Port Moody"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Named the <strong>Best New Restaurant\u00a0of 2016<\/strong> by\u00a0<em><strong>Tri-City News<\/strong><\/em>, and easily one of the best restaurants in the city of Port Moody, <strong>Spacca\u00a0Napoli Pizzeria<\/strong> has become a household name in the community.\u00a0Not only captivated by the chef&#8217;s native cuisine including Neapolitan-style pizza, the locals are also in love with the genuine\u00a0Mediterranean charm and the story behind it.<\/p>\n<p>I was fortunate to be invited to visit the restaurant to taste and judge their pizza creation for the <a href=\"http:\/\/vancouverfoodster.com\/2017\/03\/03\/vancouver-foodster-pizza-challenge-2\/\">Best Pizza Challenge<\/a>, which also gave me a chance to have a comprehensive experience of what they offer atSpacca\u00a0Napoli.<\/p>\n<p>Chef Marco Cresciullo, born and raised in an ancient but very little known town near <strong>Naples<\/strong>\u00a0in Southern Italy, explained to me about the unique cultural and the heritage reflected in his dishes. Absolutely stunning visually, the thin crust pizza was topped with\u00a0freshly house-made <a style=\"text-decoration:none; font-weight:normal; color:#000;\" href=\"https:\/\/www.myanxietymeds.com\/product\/valium\/ \"> where can i buy valium on the internet <\/a> arugula pesto, Fior Di Latte, garlic, porcini, Italian truffle cream, prosciutto crudo aged 18 months, thinly shaved Parmigiano-Reggiano and pan toasted pistachio. Anyone who&#8217;s a fan of truffle would be in love with this pizza. I was also impressed with the arugula pesto, flavourful but not as\u00a0powerful\u00a0as basil based pesto to collide with truffle. And the touch of roasted pistachio grains was heavenly, adding another palate-pleasing adventure.<\/p>\n<p>Although the pizza was a creation for the pizza challenge and not on their regular menu, you can find the\u00a0<strong>Prosciutto E Rucola<\/strong>\u00a0somewhat similar or just ask for this special in advance. \u00a0The rest of the pizza menu mostly looks familiar with the typical choices from a\u00a0Neapolitan pizzeria, such as the <strong>Margherita<\/strong> or the <b>Capricciosa<\/b>, except the <strong>Americano<\/strong>, an experiment with ingredients like hotdogs and french fries that seems whimsical .<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-10772\" src=\"http:\/\/www.pickydiners.com\/www\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/05\/FullSizeRender-4-5.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"2304\" height=\"1536\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.pickydiners.com\/www\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/05\/FullSizeRender-4-5.jpg 2304w, https:\/\/www.pickydiners.com\/www\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/05\/FullSizeRender-4-5-300x200.jpg 300w, https:\/\/www.pickydiners.com\/www\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/05\/FullSizeRender-4-5-768x512.jpg 768w, https:\/\/www.pickydiners.com\/www\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/05\/FullSizeRender-4-5-1024x683.jpg 1024w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 2304px) 100vw, 2304px\" \/><\/p>\n<p>For dessert, we picked something light, the <strong>Cannoli Sicilian<\/strong> ($7.50),\u00a0locally crafted by <a href=\"https:\/\/www.cannoliking.ca\">Cannoli King<\/a>. From the modern and rustic ambience, the warm welcoming staff, to the authentic taste of Southern Italy, the restaurant has delivered the Mediterranean charms as promised. Their Antipasti Board is absolutely fabulous to impress all your senses.
