Vancouver Foodster&#8217;s <strong><a href=\"http:\/\/tastingplatesyvr.com\/\">Tasting Plates Series<\/a><\/strong> has helped many explore the local foodie culture and restaurant scene in different neighbourhoods, discovering unique culinary creations. The North Vancouver crawl starts at <strong>Lonsdale quay<\/strong> and the stops spread around in the <strong>Lower Lonsdale<\/strong> neighbourhood. \u00a0And I had the pleasure this time to invite Jess (<a href=\"http:\/\/www.domoiscraving.com\/\">@domoiscraving<\/a>) as my tasting buddy. And they definitely did it justice by presenting us with such a\u00a0photogenic plate of food, \u00a0a trio of <strong>Shucked BC Oyster<\/strong>, \u00a0<strong>Crispy Nori Cracker<\/strong>, and <strong>Beef Tartare<\/strong>. We were impressed by the chef&#8217;s creative ideas and applauded the techniques of molecular gastronomy used\u00a0in the preparation. From the yuzu foam and tabasco-gochujang caviars on the oyster, the xo aioli and lime caviars on the nori (seaweed) cracker, to the sesame oil dust on the beef tartare, we found\u00a0familiar Korean or Asian flavours but \u00a0was impressed with such modern and aesthetic presentations. It was interesting to discover that their factory is actually in lower Lonsdale. \u00a0Besides the COCOBAR, they also offered samples of Japanese style <strong>Chocolate Truffles<\/strong>, with no dye and no artificial ingredients. The flavours include 70%Dark, Rich coffee, Premium  Milk, Green tea, Milk Tea, Earl Grey, Mango, Salted Caramel, Dairy free Raspberry and Dairy Free Ginger. We tasted samples of juices, nut mylks and mini acai bowl. It&#8217;s always nice to have such a healthy and refreshing stop like this for the crawl. We enjoyed the natural flavours of the flight of 4 (bourbon, rocky road, strawberry and apple pie), which were made with mostly locally sourced and natural ingredients. \u00a0The owner proudly mentioned\u00a0that out of the\u00a04 boys he has raised with his wife (who was working at the cashier this evening), the 2 older boys are already helping out in the shop, painting such a warm-hearted Hearthstone Brewery, where I visited for the <a href=\"http:\/\/www.pickydiners.com\/www\/tasting-judging-vancouver-foodsters-pizza-challenge\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Best Pizza Challenge<\/a>. \u00a0Today it was about beer tasting, which featured\u00a0<strong>Hearthstone IPA<\/strong>,\u00a0<strong>Ninjutsu Pale Ale<\/strong> and\u00a0<strong>Rizzla Rice Lager<\/strong>. \u00a0It was cool to drink\u00a0the beer inside where it was brewed. \u00a0We also nibbled on the <strong>Panzanella<\/strong>, \u00a0a Mediterranean-inspired salad with balsamic
