The actual festival is running from <strong>June 9-18, 2017<\/strong> in <strong>Comox Valley<\/strong>, Vancouver Island, so this is a preview of what this festival is all about: <strong>Shellfish and Seafood<\/strong>!<\/p>\n<p>The festival has been well developed in the last 10 years, \u00a0and they are determined to drive national, international, and regional long-term awareness to the importance and diversity of BC coastal communities and their seafood industries. Shellfish Market,<\/a><\/strong>\u00a0where we enjoyed a\u00a0sip-and-nibble session and meeting some of the experts in the shellfish and seafood industry. <strong>Mayor of Comox<\/strong>, <strong>Paul Ives<\/strong>\u00a0expressed his official welcome to industry specialists and visitors from all around the world. <strong>Malindi Taylor<\/strong> from Fanny Bay gave us a demonstration on shucking oysters.\u00a0She then explained on different types of oysters from different producers in BC.\u00a0\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/discovercomoxvalley.rezgo.com\/details\/100352\/fanny-bay-oyster-plant-tour\">Fanny Bay Oyster Plant Visit <\/a>will be featured during the festival on June 11 &#8211; Bar<\/strong>,<\/a>\u00a0where we were about to feast on the seafood creations from nine local chefs and the restaurants they represented. \u00a0Here are some of the dishes:<\/p>\n<p>The <strong>Steamed BC Mussels with Thai Aromatics\u00a0<\/strong>prepared by Chef <strong>Angus An<\/strong> from <strong><a href=\"http:\/\/maenam.ca\/\">Maenam<\/a><\/strong>.
