We are having one of the coldest winters in Vancouver this year. When I\u00a0thought it was getting a little warmer as February had just arrived, we were hit by some heavy\u00a0snow over the weekend.<\/p>\n

However, the snow\u00a0was not going to stop me\u00a0from\u00a0attending\u00a0West End \/ Robson Brunch Crawl<\/a>. Organized by Vanfoodster<\/a> and Dine Out Vancouver Festival<\/a>, the foodie\u00a0adventure was designed to showcase the restaurants and businesses around the corner of Robson and Denman in the West End neighbourhood. This time I was joined by my friend and fellow food blogger Maggi<\/strong> from Vieamaggi.com<\/a>!<\/p>\n

Although little chilly outside, \u00a0everyone was enjoying the warmth\u00a0and excitement the starting the brunch crawl at their first stop, Pappa Roti<\/a><\/strong>.\u00a0\u00a0 \u00a0We sat down and quickly discovered \u00a0the bakery cafe’s signature creations, the roti buns called the rollies<\/strong>,\u00a0\u00a0all the way from Malaysia, with\u00a0crisp, crunchy exterior and hot, fluffy inside, which encapsulates a\u00a0perfect mix of sweet and salty flavours.<\/p>\n

We tried the Coconut Rollie<\/strong> and the Choco Banana Rollie<\/strong>. The crispy texture of the exterior reminded me of the Cantonese pineapple buns.\u00a0Overall I preferred the coconut flavours but the chocolate banana rollie\u00a0would please anyone who\u00a0enjoys a Nutella and banana crepe. \u00a0 Maggi found her Signature Karake Tea<\/strong> quite authentic, compared to what she tasted\u00a0in South East Asia. And there were also choices of the\u00a0Ice Blended Signature Chocolate<\/strong> and the fresh brewed JJ Bean<\/strong> coffee to complement the delectable\u00a0buns.<\/p>\n

A couple blocks from Pappa Roti,\u00a0De<\/a> Dutch<\/a>\u00a0<\/strong>definitely has been a breakfast \/ brunch destinations for the locals for years. Founded in 1975 with their very first restaurant serving their Pannekoekens on Knight Street and 25th Avenue, they have now 21 locations in Western Canada.<\/p>\n

For the brunch crawl, here we were offered a sweet Pannekoeken\u00a0with Strawberries<\/strong> and and a savoury one with Bacon and Cheese<\/strong>. \u00a0Freshly made on the hot flat iron skillet, the pancakes are thin and delightful.<\/p>\n

The next stop was Punto Pasta<\/a><\/strong>, located right at the corner of Robson and Denman, and promising\u00a0to focus on simple, charming and authentic Italian food. \u00a0We were offered 3 types of homemade pizza: Magherita<\/strong>, Veggie<\/strong> and Carbonara<\/strong>, and a taste of Lavazza coffee<\/strong>, in the form of Espresso or Americano.<\/p>\n

Next we found ourselves at\u00a0Ritual<\/a><\/strong>, a neighbourhood joint popular for their comfort food dishes. They were offering a taste of a dish on their dinner menu, The Yam of Your Dreams.<\/strong> The slow roasted yam was topped with pulled pork and pineapple salsa. The jalapeno and green onion in the salsa gave some\u00a0spicy and flavourful kick to the overall taste. We were also offered\u00a0a 6 oz Upbeet Smoothie<\/strong> from Commodity Juicery<\/a><\/strong>, loaded with pineapple, cantaloupe, mango, beet, banana, coconut, ginger, dates and cold press apple juice. The combination of the yam dish and the smoothie definitely made a hearty and healthy brunch.<\/p>\n

Finally we were in a sweet treat to end our brunch crawl. On\u00a0Styo Dessert<\/a>‘<\/strong>s brunch crawl menu, we found a Blueberry Croissant Stuffed Waffle<\/strong> and a Fresh Blueberry Smoothie<\/strong>. They also offered a Ham & Cheese Croissant Stuffed Waffle<\/strong> as their savoury choice. The place\u00a0was great for the locals and visitors if they were craving for waffles for brunch! \u00a0Styo is\u00a0also known for their signature house-made Frozen Yogurt and Ice Cream.<\/p>\n

So we had another yummy tour, \u00a0trying brunch favourites \u00a0from coffee, roti buns, pancakes, pizzas, roasted yam, smoothies, waffles, yoghurt and ice cream, and leaving with a satisfied belly. \u00a0 Vanfoodster’s<\/a> Brunch Crawl series is ending along with the conclusion of Dine Out Vancouver Festival<\/a>, but there will be more events\u00a0coming in the next few weeks:<\/p>\n
